In order to learn how to deal with panic attacks, its important to know that panic attacks thrive on your fear of them. You can an will stop panic attacks, you just have to learn first that you can’t shy away from them, you have to stand up to them. I know this for a fact because I personally have suffered through many panic episodes before I got a handle on the situation. I can help you.
By being afraid that you will have a panic attack, you are constantly tense and nervous that one will find you any time, but if you relax and tell your panic attack to “bring it on”, you are taking away the very thing that fuels panic attacks and that’s fear.
In fact its fear that fuels all types of anxieties, and the best cures for anxiety are to face it straight on. The best way to attack anxiety and depression, including panic attacks, is to look it straight in the face and demand that a really severe panic attack come to you. As funny as that sounds this is one of the most fundamental anxiety tips I know, it really works.

Be brave and strong and see if you wind up with a panic attack. For this to really work, though, you need to be 100% committed to not being afraid anymore. You cannot be telling your panic attack to “bring it on,” but be thinking, “oh please don’t come.” Instead, you need to dare it to show it’s ugly face in your presence anymore, then walk tall, because you know that it won’t come anywhere near you anymore.

When you’re trying to attack and beat your anxiety and depression, one of the most important things is having confidence. Anxiety can be compared to fog.
Everyone has to travel through the fog, but it’s how well you do this traveling that determines how you deal with anxiety, and how to deal with panic attacks. If you don’t keep moving, then you are stuck in the fog called anxiety and you will be stuck living with your fear.
We all know there is more to life than being afraid, so start living and doing all the things you want to do and stop being afraid.

There are almost no differences between cures for panic attacks and cures for anxiety. Did you know that how severe your panic attack is depends on how you feel at the time it takes place? That’s right, your body and mind play a big role in how you feel. If you are emotionally drained and physically exhausted, you will be more likely to have feelings of anxiousness.
After we have panic attacks, we’ll fell anxious for a while. It’s during this time that we begin to be afraid of another panic attack. This causes more anxiety and feelings of anxiousness. Some methods will have you try to force yourself to be relaxed when you’re attacking anxiety and depression, but this can be very difficult to do and in some cases, it may not even be possible.

The good news is that you can turn the tables on your anxiety and chase it down. You can end the anticipation of a panic attack and in doing that, you will be taking control of your anxiety and taking steps toward living an anxiety free life.
By standing up for yourself and telling your anxiety that you are not afraid, you will be effectively attacking your anxiety and with it, you will be squashing the depression that often accompanies your anxiety. You are looking your anxiety in the eye and telling it that you are done “dealing” with it and you are taking your life back. You’re becoming brave and it’s going to feel really good, so hang on tight.

When you start feeling this way, you automatically think that you were right and then you become afraid of what’s happening to you.

Social Anxiety Treatment: Controlling Panic Attacks in Social Situations
Last time we talked about gratitude, and I wanted to continue that conversation and how it relates to social anxiety treatment. Lets continue with the exercise:
…..Some days, you might not feel the same way about some things as you do about others. If you don’t get the glow from thinking of your children, that’s okay, some days you might not. Focus instead on something else that makes you feel gratitude. You’re after the feeling in your chest. When you have this feeling, it offers you an unmistakable lightening of your emotional state. You should feel your mood lighten immediately. You should do this exercise alone so that you will be better able to focus and let the feeling last as long as you can. Keep going until you feel you can’t keep it going any more.
This can take as much or as little time as you like. You don’t have to put a time frame on it. It’s not about how long it takes, but how well you establish the connection between your heart and your mind so that you can be more able to rid your mind of the anxiety that plagues it.
When you know how to do this well, you should make sure to practice it daily. You can do it in the car (don’t close your eyes), at your desk, before you go to bed, or whenever you feel that you need a release of social anxiety. With more practice, your heart will get used to feeling this way and be able to feel this way within moments after some time.
The more you learn to do this exercise, the easier you will find it is to use it whenever you’re feeling stressful and anxious. When you take a couple of seconds to get the grateful feeling, you’ll begin to surprise yourself by the shift in your stress levels and the reactions of people around you. By taking a couple of seconds to perform this exercise it can completely change the outcome of interactions in stressful situations. You should especially practice this exercise before you walk into a social situation, or a conflict or misunderstanding between yourself and others. Give it a try, but don’t give up if it doesn’t work for you right away. Try it every day for two weeks and see if you notice a change in your ability of controlling panic attacks.
Hopefully you agree that this exercise is something that can be a worthwhile addition to your daily routine. By making this one simple lifestyle change, you will likely find that you make improvements on your quality of life. So take a moment to enjoy a free, simple gift in your life and see if you notice a change.
If it doesn’t work, you’ve lost nothing and if it does work, you’ve managed to gain a little bit of peace and well being in your ability to cope with social anxiety.

Social Anxiety Treatment and using Gratefulness to Cure for Panic Attacks
Anxiety causes us to feel top heavy, or bogged down by their constant worrying. All the negative, worrisome thoughts have caused an imbalance of focus. So, a person who suffers from social anxiety disorders can feel like they cannot focus on anything but their anxieties. You can move out of this mental fog by focusing on your heart, instead of your head. By deliberately shifting your attention to the way you feel, or your heart, you’ll begin to find that anxiety begins to slip away and your mental fog will slowly begin to clear.
If you’re not sure how to make the switch between mind and heart, start by feeling gratitude. Make sure to acknowledge that which you are grateful for. Maybe you’re doubtful, and I understand, but would it change your mind if I told you that it’s been scientifically proven that by regularly practicing gratitude can change your body chemistry so you feel more peaceful in your body and mind?

By focusing on your emotions, or your heart, you will feel your anxiety begin to lift from you. This is also a major technique and cure for panic attacks. This is one of the most effective social anxiety treatment available.
Before you begin this exercise, plan on being alone for a little while.
Close your eyes and pay attention to the area of your heart.
Imagine you feel that area begin to warm. As it warms, imagine that you feel that warmth radiate outward into the room. Place your hand where the warmth is. Feel it glowing and giving off warmth for a couple of minutes. This exercise is intended to melt away your social anxiety. Focus on something in your life that you genuinely appreciate. This can be anything, your family, for instance. Focus on the things that really make you feel grateful. If you really appreciate what you are focused on, you should feel a response from the area of your heart in the form of a warm sensation. You might even smile. As long as you get a warm feeling in your chest, it doesn’t matter what you think of.
This shouldn’t be something that you find yourself struggling with. Just think of something that you are grateful for. Maybe it’s your kids, your significant other your dog or cat. It could be that you have a home. Whatever makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. We all have things to be grateful for, so don’t spend too much time searching, go with whatever pops into your head first. We’ll continue this exercise in my next post.

The reason people with anxiety disorders constantly check in with themselves is because anxiety is powerful and can affect both the mind and body. Many people say that they can handle the anxious body, but the anxious mind is much more difficult for them to deal with.
When you suffer from anxiety, you might feel like your mind is surrounded by a thick fog. Life is hard to enjoy because you’re always seeing the world through the anxious thoughts and feelings that surround you.
Anxiety can steal all the fun from your life and make you feel like you aren’t connected to the world and your life. Maybe you’ve tried different social anxiety treatments, but none of them have worked. Maybe you’ve not tried any before now.
Anxious thoughts block you from having fun and getting to fully experience your life. When a person who suffers from anxiety disorder feels this way, it can cause them to feel separate from the world.
By feeling separate, they begin to feel isolated and this can be very distressing. It becomes a cycle when you start to be afraid that you’re losing touch with yourself.

Cures for Anxiety: Find Natural Cures for Anxiey and Start Living Your Life- Part 5 of 5
When people who are anxious about having a panic attack have a hypnic jerk, it scares them into thinking that something bad is happening to them. This causes a full blown panic attack because the jerking sensation is scary. So if you suffer from anxiety and you have this sensation, you might wake up gasping for air, which can turn into a fear of not being able to breathe. This can cause you to panic, or become anxious, and that could result in a panic attack. By knowing and understanding what is happening to you when you experience a hypnic jerk, you can take some of the fear from the situation.
Keep telling yourself that you’re safe and that when you jerk, it’s nothing to worry about. It is natural and it is your body’s natural reaction to falling asleep. It will not hurt you and you aren’t in any danger.
So, let me leave you with a couple of thoughts. So often, it seems like people who suffer from anxiety are pressured to find cures for their anxiety. People will say things like, why can’t you just snap out of your anxiety? I People mean well, but these comments aren’t helpful at all. You don’t just think something and all the sudden, you’ve found a cure for your anxiety. The good news is thought, that there is a step-by-step program where you can strip away the illusion of not being in control that anxiety can crate and how long it takes depends on you.
I want you to know that there are cures for your anxiety. You can never stop searching for which cure works for you. I have worked on my own anxiety and I know now more than ever that every person who suffers from anxiety, no matter how severe it is, can end their problem with anxiety. If you have thoughts to the contrary, then you need to get rid of them and never stop trying to find natural cures for anxiety. When you give up, you lose. By continuously looking for ways to cure your anxiety, you are doing the best you can do and eventually, you will find a technique that works for you.

Cures for Anxiety: Finding a Nighttime Cure For Panic Attacks- Part 4 of 5
This brings us to the topic of night panic attacks. Often, people who suffer from anxiety will find themselves waking up with a panic attack. Most nighttime panic attacks are not caused by dreams. Sleep studies show that most panic attacks happen during the early phases of sleep, not the dream phase. It’s different from nightmares, which happen during the second half of the night, which makes us more able to recall these dreams.
As I mentioned before, there is not many cures for anxiety, especially when you sleep, but by making sure that you don’t fear having a panic attack before you go to bed, you can greatly reduce your chances of having one, this is almost like a cure for panic attacks. When you go to bed, you should be confident that if you do wind up having a panic attack, you’ll be able to deal with it. In doing this, you’re not pressuring yourself to not have a panic attack. Since most people report having a panic attack right as they fall asleep, if you stay confident that even if a panic attack should happen to you, you will be able to overcome it, you are able to reduce your chances of having one.
One woman has recently told me that just as she’s about to fall asleep, it feels like her body will jolt awake, much like it’s being shocked. This scares her and will keep her up for hours.
The jerk that this woman, and many others who experience panic attacks report is called a hypnic jerk, or a hynagogic massive jerk. Big terms aside, what it does is occur just as you start to fall asleep. Many who have experienced it say it’s like falling or being electrically shocked and this is completely normal. It most often happens when we’re not comfortable or are over tired.
While there hasn’t been a whole lot of research on the subject, theories say that when we drift into sleep, our body changes in temperature, breathing and our muscles begin to relax. A hypnic jerk may be a result of our muscles beginning to relax. Since your brain isn’t completely asleep yet, the thought is that it misinterprets our relaxing muscles as a sign of falling and sends signals to our limbs to wake up, which causes the jerk. Now that you know what it is and that it happens to everyone, this should help you to cure your anxiety over what the feeling is a little.

Cures for Anxiety: Find The Anxiety Cure You’ve Always Been Searching For- Part 3 of 5
Some times, your mind might feel like a small child that just needs to be reassured that things will be taken care of. When you tell yourself that you are going to look at and deal with your problems later, you are giving your mind the chance to let go of your worries. You’ll soon discover that when you get to let your mind relax and fall asleep, by the morning, everything that you were worried about has a way of being just a little thing and were really more of an overactive imagination than something that can really be seen as a problem.
If you are having a really restless night, Dr. Dennis Gersten of San Diego suggests that you try this approach and work with it for a few nights until you customize it for yourself an find the anxiety cure that works best for you.
As you are lying in bed, remember a time in your life when you had no choice but to stay awake. Whether you were studying for a big exam, taking care of a very young baby or traveling late at night, like driving somewhere. We’ve all had occasions where all we wanted to do was go to sleep and weren’t allowed to. You should start by recalling one of these times.
Try to remember how tired you were and how badly you just wanted to lay your head down and close your eyes. How hard was it to keep your eyes open? Try to remember how your eyes burned and your eyelids just wanted to close. Oh how you wished you could close them! Don’t just think about this, but relive the memories, remember how that felt.
Think about right now and how good it feels to be in bed without any need to stay awake. Think about how much you wanted to be able to by laying in your bed and able to go to sleep with nothing pressing to stop you. Consider how good it feels to not have to get up right now and to be able to sleep as deeply and soundly as you want. Remember how it felt to want to fall asleep but not be able to because you had to do something. Keep your eyes closed while you think about that time, let your anxiety trouble melt away.
